Career Opportunities at the CGB
The Center for Genomics and Bioinformatics is located on the
Bloomington campus of Indiana University, located close to downtown
Bloomington, Indiana, about 50 miles south of Indianapolis, Indiana.
The IU Bloomington campus is a careful blend of traditional and modern
architecture within a park-like environment. Made of locally quarried
limestone, the University buildings add beauty and charm to the scenic
campus. To acquaint you with the scenic Bloomington campus, we invite
you to take a virtual campus tour.
Bloomington offers the warmth of a small town and the sophistication
of a cultural capital with international caliber performance in opera,
music and theater. Nestled in the hills of southern Indiana,
Bloomington's weather in the winter is milder than that of Fargo,
North Dakota and even milder than that of Chicago (a 5 hour drive to
the north). Typically, winter temperatures range from 30 to 40°F.
Temperatures in south-central Indiana in the summer are generally hot
and humid. For more information on life in and around Bloomington,
