Bloomington offers the warmth of a small town and the sophistication of a cultural capital with international caliber performance in opera, music and theater. Nestled in the hills of southern Indiana, Bloomington's weather in the winter is milder than that of Fargo, North Dakota and even milder than that of Chicago (a 5 hour drive to the north). Typically, winter temperatures range from 30 to 40°F. Temperatures in south-central Indiana in the summer are generally hot and humid.
